Gyrotonic And Gyrokinesis

GYROTONIC®

The Gyrotonic Method is an original and unique movement method that addresses the entire person by opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength and movement efficiency. With Gyrotonic exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.

The Gyrotonic Method utilizes specialized equipment to guide, assist and challenge the exerciser.

People from all walks of life take Gyrotonic classes, including fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, accomplished athletes and people recovering from an injury or living with a disability. Gyrotonic exercises help athletes improve their performance and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and fully post injury.

GYROKINESIS®

The Gyrokinesis Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method that coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.

The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced on a mat and chair without equipment. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.

Pilates

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening exercise focusing on the core while training the arms and legs. Mat Pilates follows the original exercises developed by Joseph Pilates – with a few additions! Mat Pilates movements are mindful and held to build muscle groups. This full-body workout uses dynamic stretching to lengthen muscles gently and effectively.

These exercises target specific body areas to strengthen and stretch muscles, which can help reduce tension, improve flexibility, and ease tightness. Mat Pilates exercises are adaptable for any age, body, or fitness level. Enjoy improved core stability, range of motion, and strength with this workout!

Pilates Reformer

These classes involve using the Pilates Reformer, a versatile and dynamic Pilates apparatus that aids in precise movements, muscle engagement, and body alignment. It comprises a moving carriage with adjustable springs, pulleys, straps, and a footbar, all working together to create a unique resistance system for various exercises.

Pilates Reformer classes ensure a strong core using the Reformer, tower, chair, and other conditioning elements. The Reformer is integral to the Pilates method, offering a versatile and practical platform for increasing strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

Reformer (Align & Unwind)

Reformer (Align and Unwind) classes take a mindful approach to breathing, stretching, and centering ourselves, effectively releasing the tension accumulated in our bodies from the hectic pace of daily life. Experience the incredible advantages of incorporating stretching exercises with the Reformer into your fitness routine.

We combine hands-on assisted stretching techniques with a dedicated focus on proper alignment and increased mindfulness. Throughout the session, we refine your form through specific exercises to elevate your overall Pilates practice. By the end of the class, you will depart feeling physically rejuvenated and mentally revitalized.

Reformer Challenge

Reformer Challenge classes are a transformative journey to supercharge your body, mind, and soul through advanced Reformer Pilates. This class aims to enhance and expand your Pilates practice by focusing on building strength, endurance, and cardio. Feel stronger physically and mentally, get more toned, and improve your health and wellness with Reformer Challenge classes.

Reformer Challenge broadens your knowledge of the Pilates repertoire, including advanced moves, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining proper form and control. Modifications will be available to accommodate everyone.

TRX

TRX/Pilates Conditioning

TRX/Pilates Conditioning classes combine TRX suspension trainers with Pilates principles to enhance core muscle strength while working the entire body. TRX and Pilates share complementary core principles. Both focus on core strength, balance, and controlled movements but accomplish these goals differently.

TRX, rooted in suspension training, emphasizes full-body strength, stability, and functional movements by challenging balance, engaging multiple muscle groups, and enhancing body awareness. In contrast, Pilates focuses on precision, alignment, and breathing to promote efficient movement patterns and a deep connection between mind and body.

Reformer/TRX Combo

Unleash the full potential of your workout with our exhilarating Reformer/TRX combo class. This unique program seamlessly fuses the precision and form of Pilates Reformer with the dynamic effectiveness of the TRX suspension system. Feel the burn while maintaining the impeccable form of Pilates, and benefit from the combined strength training of TRX, the flexibility and stretching of Pilates, and the core-strengthening properties of both modalities.

This workout builds strength, balance, and flexibility. Sessions incorporate strength training, cardio, and resistance to ignite fat-burning and elevate endurance. Everyday movements become more efficient and precise, enabling you to tackle life with enhanced physical fitness.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice that encompasses physical poses, deep breathing, and concentration. It is a mind and body discipline that fosters strength and flexibility and has therapeutic benefits. Different styles of yoga incorporate physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation.

Yoga Stretch

Yoga Stretch classes are for individuals who are feeling tense, stiff, or stressed. Yoga Stretch incorporates restorative poses that promote deep stretching and body rejuvenation. By combining yoga and stretching, participants can experience a range of benefits. Practicing yoga and stretching can help relieve muscle tightness and tension, enhance posture and spinal flexibility, increase flexibility, improve circulation, lower blood pressure, manage muscle pain, and alleviate joint stiffness.

This class helps individuals experiencing discomfort in areas such as the lower back, shoulders, hips, and neck. Whether one seeks relief from specific areas of pain or desires to enhance overall flexibility, this class offers the movements, attention, and care that the body needs.

Gentle Flow Yoga (Restorative)

Gentle Flow Yoga (Restorative) sessions focus on synchronizing breath with a seamless and deliberate flow of slow, steady movements and stretching. Gentle Flow Yoga (Restorative) links each movement with breath, and postures are gradual — moving in and out of each pose and then finding a holding position. This preparation and fluid entry into postures protects and nurtures the joints, muscles, and connective tissue.

Participants of all levels are encouraged to join as modifications are possible to suit individual needs; note that this class will be physically challenging to build endurance and overall strength. You are welcome to bring your yoga mat or utilize one provided here.

Zumba

Zumba

Zumba is a dance fitness class that combines cardio with Latin-inspired dance. Zumba classes are beginner-friendly and welcome people of all levels and abilities. Wearing shoes is recommended. Zumba is designed to be a total-body cardio and aerobic workout and features intervals that can help improve cardiovascular fitness, balance, coordination, and agility. Zumba dance workouts can help reduce the risk of heart disease and lower blood pressure.

You don’t need special dance skills to have fun in a Zumba class. While people with natural rhythm may pick up the moves faster, the focus is on dancing, letting go, and having fun! The emphasis is on moving to the music and having a good time. Each session involves choreographed movements set to upbeat salsa and international music. Zumba offers a high-energy workout experience that makes exercise exciting and fun.

Strength+Balance+Core

Strength+Balance+Core

Strength+Balance+Core classes aim to enhance balance and core strength. The exercises in this class focus on proper posture and stability. Suitable for students of all levels, these classes are designed especially for those with injuries or conditions that could benefit from core and stability strengthening.

The class targets the pelvis, lower back, hips, and abdomen. Core exercises help these muscles work together, improving balance and stability. Stability is crucial whether you are engaged in sports or everyday activities; most sports and physical activities rely on stable core muscles. Wearing tennis shoes is recommended.
